Project tags are labels you apply to projects to organize and track them — for example marking projects as "In Review", "Needs Approval", or any custom label your team needs. Tags are organizational only. They do not change how projects are set up, approved, or processed.
Tags are useful when you need a flexible way to categorize projects beyond existing status fields, especially as the number of projects in your account grows and you need a quick way to sort, group, or find the ones relevant to you.
Who can create and apply tags?
- Users with System Admin, Procurement Admin, Project Owner, or Project Editor role can view, edit, apply, and create new tags.
- Users who are not Project Owners or Project Editors, can view tags on a project, but cannot create tags.
Tags are universal to a company
Tags are created and stored at a company level. Once created from within a specific project, those tags will be visible to all users within a company.
How to add tags to a project
- Open the project you want to tag.
- Open the project menu, then select Add Tags.
- To create a new tag, click + Create New and enter the tag name. Creating tags requires the System Admin role.
- Use the checkbox next to each tag to apply or remove it from the project.
- To edit or delete a tag from the project, use the pencil or trash can icon next to the tag. Deleting a tag removes it from the company and from any projects it was applied to.
- Click Save.
Where tags appear
Tags are visible on the Project Overview and Project List page. Tags will also be visible in the Project Overview report.
